Electric Daisy Carnival Goes International with EDC UK

Pack your bags, rave family. Today, EDC announces its second annual UK incarnation, July 12 and 13, 2014 at the Milton Keynes Bowl, about an hour North of London. Headliners will include the usual suspects of big EDM—Avicii, Martin Garrix, Calvin Harris—alongside more underground house and techno heavyweights like Dubfire and Hot Since 82, plus trance titans like Paul Van Dyk and Ferry Corsten. Fatboy Slim, who's been DJing giant English festivals since you were merely an embryo. A special stage curated by HARD (a LiveNation sister company of EDC promoter Insomniac) will feature hometown heros like My Nu Leng and B. Traits.

This is only the second Electric Daisy Carnival to take place outside of the North American continent, following in the footsteps of of EDC New York, Dallas, Orlando, Mexico City and of course Las Vegas. The UK has nearly two decades on the States when it comes to throwing giant dance music festivals, which is why Insomniac has partnered with venerated UK promoter Cream to throw the British EDC. Who better to lead the way for two days of dancing and drinking and sunshine and waking up in a mud-soaked camping tent that collapsed in the middle of the night?

Insomniac will be competing with festivals like Glastonbury—which brings in 175,000 attendees per festival—and Global Gathering, which are already firmly ensconed in the British dance music landscape.
